Welcome to an Exciting Marketing Career!
Marketing Curriculum   Formal Program of Study You should not overlook choosing electives that will support your interest in a particular area of marketing. Numerous courses, both inside and outside the College of Business Administration, can be taken that will strengthen your career preparation. Many of these courses are alluded to in the Careers in Marketing section of this booklet. For a more detailed explanation of specific courses, you should seek consultation from a Marketing faculty member. Remember, however, that you are ultimately responsible for designing an academic program that will suit your individual needs. The University of New Orleans stipulates that every graduate must have completed general education requirements (see your catalog for additional information). Be certain to follow the steps listed in the University Undergraduate Catalog and declare your major as soon as possible. All students admitted to the College of Business Administration are required to complete the Business Common Body of Knowledge which includes Principles of Marketing (MKT 3501). Beyond this, each marketing major is required to take three courses within the marketing core (MKT 3505, MKT 3510, and MKT 4580) and a minimum of six marketing electives (See graduation requirements outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog).
