The
UNO Master of Business Administration Degree
Welcome!
The MBA Degree Program, which is accredited by AACSB,
is designed to prepare students for superior administrative positions in both
the private and public sectors. Emphasis is placed on the development of analytical
abilities. Students are provided with a broad preparation in business administration
while being allowed to focus on a variety of concentrations in specific business
areas. The
UNO MBA Program is the largest in the Gulf South Region, enrolling over 700 students.
While the majority of these 700 students are local residents, a growing number
of out-of-state and internationals are choosing the UNO MBA. We now have students
more than 60 foreign nations enrolled in the UNO MBA Program. A student
can pursue the MBA Degree Program on either a full-time basis or a part-time basis.
Since almost 70% of our MBA students work full-time, at least one section of each
required MBA course is offered in the evening and a section is often offered during
the afternoon. For the convenience of some of our students, courses are not just
offered at our Lakefront Campus, but at various other campus locations, such as
Downtown, Jefferson Center and Slidell. The College also offers Executive
Education Programs, including an Executive MBA
Program, and an Executive Master of Health Care
Management Program.
The MBA Degree Program is designed to satisfy the needs of students with undergraduate
degrees in business administration, as well as those without business administration
degrees. Our MBA students come from various backgrounds, such as pharmacy, nursing,
law, English, history, psychology, health care, engineering, banking and philosophy,
as well as the traditional business disciplines. The MBA Program curriculum
consists of a minimum of 57 credit hours. This consists of 24 hours of Foundation
Core Courses and 33 hours of Advanced Core Courses.
All 4400-level courses may be waived for AACSB business undergraduates, with a
grade of "C" or better. The 4400 foundation core courses are not counted as graduate
credit and must be taken before any of the advanced core courses. We suggest you
contact the curriculum/scheduling advisors for
the most accurate foundation course requirements for you.
Please note that while the web site provides an excellent overview, you should
get the very latest information on graduate programs by contacting the office.
