Mission Statement

The mission of the Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration at the University of New Orleans is to maintain itself as an accredited academic unit of exceptional quality that provides the highest possible level of academic service to the hospitality and tourism constituents in the area of teaching, research, community assistance and economic development.

OBJECTIVES

1. Provide students with the foremost in hospitality and tourism education, which involves individual growth and leadership skills, professional knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry.

2. Provide individualized attention to students through faculty and staff involvement in an open, professional environment.

3. Provide the most current and up-to-date curriculum through industry involvement and faculty research.

4. Provide quality teaching and advising through faculty who have extensive industry experience and a concern for our students and our program.  Our dedicated professors will:

1. Strive to create a positive educational environment.
2. Strive to make learning exciting and interesting.
3. Provide ample time for students.

5. Provide an abundance of work experience opportunities for students and unlimited career opportunities through continual contact with and support of the local industry.

6. Promote personal and professional growth by allowing students to express their opinions and thoughts in an open-minded environment.
