CONCENTRATION AREAS   

UNO's School of HRT offers four concentration areas.  Concentrations are easily accomplished and can be combined with a minor in marketing, management, accounting, or economics, permitting students to custom tailor their individual curricula.  Students graduating with one or more concentration areas and a business minor possess a powerful tool to customize their studies.

FOOD & BEVERAGE OPERATIONS: Studies comprehend the planning of all aspects of commercial food service operations.

CONVENTION & EVENT MANAGEMENT: Emphasis is placed on the management of in-bound tourism operations with regards to meeting planning, convention services, convention center and arena management.

TOURISM: Studies encompass theory and techniques as applied to the tourism industry with particular emphasis upon in and outbound tourism, planning and development issues for both national and international persepective.

HOTEL & LODGING MANAGEMENT: Includes a comprehensive study of management and marketing practices employed in the operation of various types of lodging facilities.

3295 Independent Study in HRT

For each of these concentrations, 15 hours of HRT electives at 3000 or 4000 level are necessary.
